Carmen Sevilla and Juan Y Medio were the odd couple that presented the programme Nuestras canciones for Canal 9 and Telemadrid, a stroll through the last few decades with images and music. The programme’s group of singers and dancers opened the show, which consisted of thirteen editions broadcast weekly, with popular domestic
and international tunes. The themes chosen went from Fever or A chorus line through to Gracias a la vida or Cartagenera.
Every week the programme took us back in time to recover old black and white images from the last century: from the visit of Marilyn Monroe to the North American troops stationed in Korea to the best films of Elvis Presley, the affairs of Frank Sinatra or some of the best performances of the inimitable Mario Moreno, “Cantinflas”.
Artists from today and yesteryear appeared on the set where, at the request of viewers, recalled some of their favourite songs of the last century. Among the guest stars appearing on the show featured Lolita, Raphael, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Azúcar Moreno, Los Brincos, Papá Levante, Alba Molina, Los chicos and the flamenco dancer Antonio Canales.
The show was given added spice with a quiz between two couple based on the recent past and music. They had to guess the years of past events, sing songs off by heart or guess the performers and title of some tunes, among other entertaining tests. |
