Telecinco knew that the Gestmusic format of No te rías que es peor, which had been so successful on another national channel, was still fresh and strong enough to cover the channel’s midday time range. That is why it took up the idea of a quiz featuring jokes and comedy that was broadcast just before the news, as it was in its previous stage.
The presenter Elsa Anka was entrusted to do battle with the most famous names in comedy, helping to create a fun-loving atmosphere in the programme which was able to win over the audience.
The contestants had to face the most outrageous tests where their artistic abilities, imagination and memory were put to the test. All of this was backed up by the jokes of the comedians Barragán, Pedro Reyes, Paco Aguilar, Emilio Laguna, Kimbo, Rafael Erosa, Jaimito Borromeo and Sara Sanders, making the task even more difficult.
Sonría por favor was, as well as a comedy quiz, the stage for other performances by showbiz personalities such as Pepe Viyuela, Les Funambules, Dúo Sacapuntas, Chapertons, Puturrú de Fuá, Diabéticas Aceleradas, Académica Palanca, Jelly Rolls, Marko the magician and the Golden Apple Quartet. |
